Warm spices intermingle with earthy Indonesian patchouli, Somalian frankincense, and Spanish labdanum to create a scent that transports you to someplace far away and perhaps in a different era altogether. I comprised this perfume using botanicals that were used in ancient perfumes and unguents. It is a celebration of the wisdom accumulated from our ancestors that walked this planet thousands of years ago.
One of the first perfumes I ever recall smelling was a bottle of my Maw-maw's (grandmother's) Opium perfume. I recall spritzing it and immediately being knocked off of my feet. It was spicy, warm, and overwhelming for my five-year-old tastes, but just right for her grand Sagittarian sensibilities.
Here I aimed to create something that smells bold, largesse, and deep. Sags are associated with travel, adventure, and philosophy. There is sometimes a desire for a life that is aligned with what we define as fringe or bohemian, but while others don that lifestyle as a trend, Sags choose the alternative because it aligns with their beliefs and philosophies.
This fragrance is for Sags who are strong in their Jupiterian energy. Those who are unafraid to explore where others fear to trespass. In the words of T.S. Eliot (who had his Mars and Jupiter in Sagittarius), "The end of all our exploring, will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time." This is the ultimate mission for Sagittarius.
